about organic
olli suppliers
products are proudly grown, processed and bottled in South Africa

For most farmers finding a good range of markets where they can sell their products is essential. The average farmer will supply a percentage of their crops to the export and local fresh produce markets and the balance will be used in processed products, i.e. cans, bottles, juices and sauces. In the organic industry in SA we have little or no organic processors at this stage. olli has entered this arena and is actively working towards fulfilling this role. By taking the process-grade product we allow farmers a better average yield in terms of the price they receive and this is a valuable contribution in stabilising the organic market supply and demand in the long term.

At olli we have engaged a range of organic farms in South Africa to supply select organic produce, which we process into puree under the strictest conditions. This puree process is done exclusively for olli organic baby food.

Our growers are a selection of the best organic farming operations in the country. We are also engaged in various development projects, where we are helping a number of smaller and previously disadvantaged farmers to get organic projects off the ground. This will not only increase the organic product availability, but will also supply us with a range of organic vegetables. It is olli’s intention to make a contribution to the industry and support the diverse community that makes up our wonderful South African nation.

Some of our farmers have been organic for many years and some have recently converted. All are
fully certified organic by reputable certifiers who operate according to the highest international organic standards.
The company that certifies the olli factory, Ecocert, also verifies the certified organic status of all of the products we receive from our growers.

In the case of small and previously disadvantaged farmers we will also assist with certification costs. One of the programmes that we
will be part of that is managed by SACODAS - the SA Council for Organic Development and Sustainability - this is the National Organic Product
Initiative. The NOPI will pioneer the concept of organic villages in various areas, where the agricultural component will be organic and the
agriculture will provide sustainable income for the villagers. olli will use the process-grade organic products.
